Assaults on ICE Agents

We have seen violence in the streets. Even though the legacy media often labels the protests as “mostly peaceful,” we have seen many evolve into riots. The targets of the violence are usually law enforcement.

The Department of Homeland Security released new data revealing that “ICE law enforcement is now facing a 500 percent increase in assaults while carrying out enforcement operations.” When the report was issued, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin pointed to the arrest of Roberto Carlos Munoz. He is an illegal alien and convicted child sex offender, who dragged an ICE agent 50 yards with his car as he attempted to evade arrest in Bloomington, Minnesota.

She warned, “Every day the men and women of ICE put their lives on the line to protect and defend the lives of American citizens.” At the same time, she called out some of the Democrat leaders (such as House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and the mayor of Boston and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz) for their threatening statements. She also mentioned Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

For example, the Boston mayor and Minnesota Governor compared ICE agents to Nazis. The Democratic House Minority Leader vowed to discover the identity of every ICE agent. Once published, they and their families often face threats from radical activists.

She concluded that these Democratic politicians “are contributing to the surge in assaults of our ICE officers through their repeated vilification and demonization of ICE.” She called for the violence against ICE agents to end.

The people who commit violence against anyone in law enforcement must be caught and convicted. They are responsible for their actions, but they are often encouraged by leaders who should also be held accountable.viewpoints new web version
