Dr. Eric Wallace prefers to be recognized, first and foremost, as a believer in Jesus Christ and a servant of God. He holds post-graduate degrees in Biblical Studies (MA, ThM, Ph.D), earning the distinction of being the first African American to earn a Ph.D. in Biblical studies from Union-PSCE (Now Union Presbyterian Seminary). In 2006, Wallace ran for State Senate in Illinois’ 19th district, and was a candidate for U.S. Representative in the 2nd Congressional district special election in 2013 and 2014. In 2008, Wallace began publishing Freedom’s Journal Magazine, an online political magazine, aimed at encouraging African Americans to cling to their natural conservative principles. In addition to the online magazine, he has authored two books. In 2011, Dr. Eric and his wife Jennifer founded Freedom’s Journal Institute (FJI) for the Study of Faith and Public Policy, a non-profit designed to advance the Kingdom of God through socio-political, education and engagement that gives tribute to the first African American press. The Wallaces organized the first Black Conservative Summit in 2013. Since 2019, “Kingdoms in Konflict (KiK): A Matter of Faith, Race, and Public Policy,” a TV program, has aired on NRB, TLN Networks and online at Freedomsjournalinstitute.org. And in recent months, Wallace has been outspoken about the evils of Critical Race Theory.
