Cindy Brinker Simmons graduated from The University of Virginia and began a distinguished career in public relations that continued for thirty years. Coinciding with her professional career, Cindy founded Wipe Out Kids' Cancer (WOKC) in 1980 in memory of her mother, the late great tennis champion Maureen "Little Mo" Connolly Brinker, who died of cancer in 1969 at age thirty-four. The mission of WOKC is to offer comfort and hope to kids with cancer through support programs serving the entire family and funds innovative research leading to new discoveries and treatments in the fight against pediatric cancer. Cindy is inspired as she marvels at the courage and resilience of these young cancer patients and their families ... her heroes! Cindy is president of the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation, one of the largest private junior tennis foundations of its kind worldwide. Cindy oversees the "Little Mo" junior tournaments and the foundation's multi-dimensional programs.  She has served on numerous non-profit boards and ministries and has received multiple awards for her leadership, volunteerism, and philanthropy including being honored in 2021 with the State of Texas “Governor’s Lifetime Volunteer Achievement Award" and as the “Person of the ear” by the Preston Hollow People newspaper. Cindy enjoys spending treasured time with her family and friends, running, traveling, and encouraging and serving others. She lost her beloved husband Bob to cancer in 2005. Her son William is pursuing his dream of becoming a film producer in Los Angeles.
