Dr. John Townsend is a business consultant, leadership coach and psychologist. He has written or co-written 27 books, selling 8 million copies, including the New York times best-seller Boundaries series, Leadership Beyond Reason, and Handling Difficult People. For more than twenty years Dr. Townsend has engaged with leaders, organizations and individuals around the globe, offering them life-changing solutions to their problems. He is a co-host of the nationally-syndicated talk show “New Life Live” which is heard in 180 markets with 3 million listeners. John is founder of the Townsend Institute for Leadership and Counseling, which offers graduate degrees and credentialing in three content areas: Organizational Leadership, Coaching and Counseling. Dr. Townsend works with leaders and organizations by providing team and executive coaching, corporate consulting, and by giving conference presentations. He coaches families and family businesses. John conducts the Townsend Leadership Program, developing leaders at sites nationwide. He also formed the Townsend Leadership Coach Group, which trains leaders to run their own training teams. John co-founded and directed a healthcare company for ten years, with operations in 35 cities in the western U.S. It was here that he learned the strategies for change and success which he now employs in his coaching and consulting. Dr. Townsend is active on the board of Mustard Seed Ranch, a residential program for abused children. A resident of Newport Beach, California, Dr. Townsend and his wife Barbi have two sons. Timothy Paul Jones serves as the C. Edwin Gheens Professor of Christian Family Ministry and as associate vice president at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, the flagship school of the Southern Baptist Convention and one of the largest seminaries in the world. Before coming to Southern Seminary, Dr. Jones led churches in Missouri and Oklahoma as a pastor and an associate pastor. Dr. Jones has authored or edited more than a dozen books in the fields of family ministry and apologetics, including Misquoting Truth, Trained in the Fear of God, and the CBA bestseller The Da Vinci Codebreaker. Christian Retailing Magazine awarded Jones top honors in 2010 in the Christian education category for his book Christian History Made Easy. In 2007, Charles Colson listed him as one of “four names you need to know” when responding to the new atheists. Jones has also received the Scholastic Recognition Award from the North American Professors of Christian Education for his research in faith development. The son of a rural pastor, Dr. Jones earned his bachelor of arts degree in biblical studies at Manhattan Christian College. He also holds the Master of Divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Doctor of Philosophy degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has taught biblical languages at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and at Oklahoma Baptist University, as well as lecturing on the reliability of the New Testament Gospels at the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) at forums sponsored by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Despite his academic background, Dr. Jones has shown a capacity to communicate to ordinary people in an appealing and accessible style. He has been interviewed on numerous radio and television programs, including WGN Morning News, Fox & Friends, Crosstalk America, and Bible Answer Man. Dr. Jones is married to Rayann and they have three daughters.
