Marjorie Dannenfelser is the president and an original organizer of the Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List), a national pro-life group dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates to reduce and ultimately end abortion. Under Marjorie’s leadership, the SBA List has grown to more than 365,000 members nationwide. Since its founding, the SBA List has helped elect more than 100 pro-life candidates to the U.S. House of Representatives, 19 to the U.S. Senate, and 16 to other statewide offices across the country. Marjorie has argued that pro-life electoral politics hinges on the ability to reach voters personally. That’s why in the 2014 election cycle the SBA List and its partners, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, spent more than $15 million to counterstrike the “war on women” – exposing pro-abortion incumbents and turning out voters through an unprecedented ground campaign. Having helped elect a new Senate majority, the SBA List now continues its efforts to protect unborn children, mothers, and pro-life taxpayers though the advancement of lifesaving federal legislation. In addition to ending taxpayer funding of abortion in Obamacare, the SBA List’s top legislative priority is the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act – a popular initiative to protect unborn children after five months, more than halfway through pregnancy. This bill, which is supported by the new Senate Majority Leader, would save more than 18,000 lives a year. At the urging of the SBA List and top congressional leaders, the five-month abortion ban has also been endorsed by several likely 2016 GOP presidential candidates including Governor Jeb Bush, Governor Mike Huckabee, Governor Mike Pence, Governor Bobby Jindal, and Senator Ted Cruz.
