Dr. Paul Cannings is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Living Word Fellowship Church in Houston, Texas. He is also the Founder and President of Power Walk Ministries, a national and global training resource for clergy and lay leaders. He previously served as Youth Director at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church and Assistant Academic Dean at Dallas Bible College in Dallas, Texas. He later became Executive Vice President of the College of Biblical Studies (formerly Houston Bible Institute), in Houston, as well as National Director of Outreach for The Urban Alternative and City Director for its Houston Branch. His academic background includes studies at Oxford University in England, and a Doctorate in Philosophy/Theological Studies in Religion and Society from Omega Graduate School (formerly Oxford Graduate School) in Dayton, TN. He also holds a Master’s degree in Theology, Bible, and Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. In Houston, he can be heard on KHCB 105.7 FM, where he teaches on “The Pastor’s Corner.” Dr. Cannings has written numerous books, including his latest release Leaders in Heels, which challenges traditional perspectives on women’s roles in ministry and leadership by exploring the lives of influential biblical women. Dr. Cannings and his wife Everette, are the proud parents of two adult sons, Paul Jr. and Pierre, who are married to Tanisha and Monica, respectively. They are blessed with seven grandchildren, a testament to the love and joy that fills their family.
