Marvin Olasky has written thirty books including two new ones just published: Pivot Points: Adventures on the Road to Christian Contentment and Moral Vision: Leadership from George Washington to Joe Biden. He is a Presbyterian Church in America elder and has been married to his wife, Susan, for 47 years: They have four sons and six grandchildren. Olasky graduated from Yale University in 1971 and gained a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1976. He edited World magazine from 1992 to 2021 and has research affiliations with Discovery Institute and Acton Institute. He was a professor at The University of Texas at Austin from 1983 to 2008 and has also had appointments at Patrick Henry College, Princeton, and The King’s College, New York City. He is chairman of Zenger House, which gives annual awards to journalists who write biblically objective stories. Dr. Olasky has traveled to/reported from 78 countries and 80 major league or spring training ballparks, including many now demolished. He did at least 10,000 steps on 534 consecutive days before a foot injury made clear to him the value of a Sabbath. He has been a foster parent, a PTA president, a school board and crisis pregnancy center chairman, a cross-country bicycle rider, and—rising to the utmost of his baseball abilities—a Little League assistant coach.
