Derek Dienner is the founder and executive producer of MAKE/FILMS, a full-service video production company based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Established in 2014, MAKE/FILMS specializes in creating commercials for local, regional, and international brands, as well as producing Emmy-nominated documentaries and feature films. Derek's passion for storytelling and entrepreneurship has led to notable projects, including the production of the feature film "Brave the Dark," starring acclaimed actor Jared Harris. At the age of 31, Derek was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer, a life-altering experience that he chose to document in the award-winning short documentary "The Day I Became Alive." This film chronicles his journey through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, highlighting his resilience and determination to inspire others facing similar challenges. Beyond filmmaking, Derek is the host and executive producer of the MAKE/IMPACT podcast, where he fosters conversations aimed at creating positive change within communities and beyond.
