Iona Rossely

Author | Speaker | Animal Lover — Lay Minister for the Anglican Church in Australia

Sporting champion Iona Rossely excelled in the adrenaline-fueled world of speed skiing, winning the Ladies British Overseas Champion and New Zealand Ladies Champion titles. After a life-threatening speed skiing accident in the World Championship qualifiers, Iona moved into training and competing in endurance horse racing. Here she successfully represented Ireland for several years and competed in the World Championships, World Equestrian Games and the European Championships. Iona also acted as Formula 1 PR representative, produced and presented a video “Learn to Ski the Fast way” for Virgin Videos and worked as a freelance television sports presenter. Iona is now a lay minister for the Anglican Church in Australia, an artist, speaker and avid animal lover and her passion is sharing her testimony on how God gave her a new life – one of freedom, peace and joy. Prior to writing her new book, ‘Racing on Empty’, Iona was the Coordinator of the Global Sustainability Network (GSN), an inter faith led organisation relating to anti-slavery and the United Nations Sustainability Development Goal 8. She has organised high profile events at Lambeth Palace, the Vatican, Westminster Abbey and most recently the United Nations New York.
